Coronavirus Update -  

The green re-opened to MEMBERS ONLY from the 29th March 2021, but the clubhouse will remain closed until further notice.

A new on-line booking tool for the green is now available, following BCGBA guidance. Booking can also be arranged via the Bowling Secretary.  


Members will be kept up to date via regular newsletters and emails and can contact the club via the "Contact Us" page. From September Michael Anderson will act as temporary Secretary until elections at the 2021 AGM.

What do we offer our members?

The Club aims to promote the sport of Crown Green Bowling and engage in social intercourse for its members. You can make life-long friendships at our unique club with its tranquil surroundings.
We offer you the opportunity to:
-play Crown Green Bowls competitively in local leagues.
-bowl socially with friends on what is acknowledged to be one of the finest bowling greens in the region.
-be taught how to bowl (free equipment hire) if new to the sport & to be coached to a higher level.
- take part in the bowling competitions throughout the summer.
- play snooker both competitively and socially.
- enjoy great social events such as our race night, live music evenings & wine tasting.
- hiring our facilities for your special occasion.

Club Hire
Our club and facilities are available for birthdays, wedding anniversaries, christenings, funerals, works night out etc.
We offer reasonable hire rates, modest bar prices, use of the green with inclusive use of bowls and equipment, snooker table and off street parking for up to 30  cars with CCTV coverage.

Competitive Bowling
The club competes in nine leagues, with teams catering for all capabilities. Both ladies and men have the opportunity to play in 15 of our 20 single and mixed sex teams.
Brighouse Veterans (4 teams) play Monday mornings/afternoons
Elland League (5 teams) play Monday evenings
Yorkshire Park Ladies (2 teams) play Tuesday mornings and afternoons Huddersfield Ladies (1 team) play Tuesday evenings
Colne Valley Floodlit (1 team) play Tues/Wed evenings Sept/Oct
Huddersfield Vets (2 teams) play Tuesday afternoons
Huddersfield Ladies (2 teams) play Wednesday afternoons
Huddersfield Works (1 team) play Thursday evenings
Huddersfield Sat League (2 teams) play Saturday afternoons

Social Bowling
Beginners will find advice on how to play the game as well as the health benefits of bowling on our Bowling page. 
Popular weekly events include: 
Mixed bowling on Wednesday evenings. Two sessions at 6 and 7.30p.m.
Veterans on Thursday mornings from 10am.
Ladies on Friday mornings from 10am.
Members can also bowl socially at any time in the week, except when the Club has been booked for league competitions or private functions (see Green Usage pages for further details)

Snooker Events
We have one team in the Huddersfield snooker league played during the winter on a Thursday evening, whilst members may have the use of the snooker table at other times for social matches.

Our dedicated Social Committee ensure there is something to please every taste, including mouth watering catering.

Bar Facilities

The bar offers a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks as well as some snacks, at reasonable prices.
